any chance of a gallery?

a lot of forums have galleries. why dont we have a proper one?
or does it cost lots?

we only have a small data allocation, therefore it is best to link to photos on a free server like photobucket.com or bikepics.com

That would be ok if you can make it available for any member to upload up a picture and then link to it in their posts. Might be a problem if other non members find out how to access it though.

That would be todo with the php script. There is a gallery module available for phpbb. I doubt noobiefzr will be back.

Are you still interested in some webspace? Keep in mind you would have to migrate your whole forum to the other server to have the 'gallery' section work correctly.

Im not so sure about your statement here. That is only if you wanted the gallery to have like 'uploaded by: <username>' but does it necessarily have to be?

Im sure there's a few addons you could add for php to allow this functionality but... I remember Dave stating he's had issues getting in contact with webmaster to make any changes.

That would be for an interigated gallery which seemed to me like the point of the topic. Otherwise easier just having everyone use something like photobucket. (plus it's free)

Still have not caught up with Dean who admins the forum at top level. I am not really up with this PHP scripts and programming to add the fancy features. Other than the usual stuff that Is built into the admin section that I can access. I would add a new site logo if I could upload to the correct spot using the site hosting package..

As soon as you make contact dave, please be sure to let me know, ive actually got a server setup so i can host a gallery for us. (4tb) of storage. <~ more then enough, but integrating our current forum logins to the gallery would be out of the question unless i had authentication to the database. Just something to think about.

What do we get with a gallery, and do we really need it..

I presume that we would be able to store pics locally, is that correct?

Cant you just create a special forum (such as Community >> Bike Pics) and then people can just go there and link all their external pictures to the one forum. That gives us all somewhere to go to perve at bike-porn and solves the issue of storage.
