250 Fuel Tap leaky.

Postby SnowFox on Sun Mar 07, 2010 4:18 pm

As title states, i have a leaky tap. The mechanics said it shouldnt be a problem if i dont take it apart.

Well it has become a problem, giving the side of my bike a strange orange tinge and it smells like fuel after a nice rain.

My question is, is there any hope of finding a replacement, if not does anyone have pics of what the inside of the fuel tap looks like, i.e the o rings and etc, the mechies said dont pull it apart because the seals will full apart :/

And yes, i googled. Everyone loves the 400's.

Don'tcha love wrench benders with absolutely neither clue nor initiative?! :???:

Valve packing (lobed dingus actually turned by the lever) 3AC-24523-00-00 (supercedes 3AJ-24523-00-00)
O-ring 3AJ-24534-01-00

If your tank outlet is also leaking, the gasket for that is 4X8-24512-00-00.

Any Yam shop should be able to bring these in. Good luck!
